is a very important JLNA meeting where we will be discussing two new
proposed buildings in our neighborhood. The

House to discuss proposed project at 426 Alice Street

Wayne
Jordan, owner of 426 Alice Street, will be hosting an open house on
Thursday, March 19, 2002 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to discuss his proposed
project that would demolish the warehouse at 426 Alice and replace it
with a 100-foot tall apartment house. This meeting was originally scheduled
for March 14, 2002. |

The 426 Alice Street Project entails the demolition of an existing approximately 30,000 square foot warehouse that is a contributor to the Waterfront Warehouse Historic District and the new construction of 94 residential units and 9,800 square feet of office space, totaling approximately 138,600 square feet of occupied space. The proposed project will include the construction of 123 parking spaces and approximately 13,000 square feet of open space. The building would be approximately 85 feet, 4 inches in height at the roofline. Based on the preliminary project description, it was determined that the project may have significant environmental impacts. There will be a public hearing on the DEIR and the land use permits for the project. For
